My Story

From $25K/Year to $300K
— and It Wasn't the Script

Chapter 1 — The Dream

Bowie State. Basketball. The NBA.

Going into my senior year at Bowie State University, I was a student-athlete with one passion: basketball. I believed I'd make it to the NBA — or at least earn a shot playing overseas.

Chapter 2 — The Injury

One Play. Everything Gone.

One ruptured Achilles tendon in an unofficial summer league game ended all of it. Just like that, my college career was over.

Chapter 3 — The Fall

A Temp Job. Then a Pink Slip.

My family was struggling at home, so I took the first job that would hire me — temp desk work. I worked hard enough that they brought me on full-time, and I learned how to communicate with people. Then I got laid off, and everything crumbled. I sat in a bedroom in a small two-bedroom apartment, depressed: basketball over, job gone, no income.

Chapter 4 — The DVD

My Brother's DVD Changed Everything

That year, my brother brought home The Secret — on DVD. Every night he'd play it for my parents in the living room while I listened from the bedroom. The law of attraction. And it clicked — I'd been doing it for years on the court without knowing the name: visualizing games before they happened, manifesting moments. You are what you think about. It was true. I'd lived it.

Chapter 5 — The Books

Four Masters. One Obsession.

The names on that DVD sparked something — Napoleon Hill, Neville Goddard, and others. And the whole time, my parents had Think and Grow Rich sitting on a shelf, unread. I picked it up. I played that DVD over and over until it was inside me. Then I went deeper — Hill, Claude Bristol, Wallace D. Wattles, Neville. My belief grew beyond anything I could have imagined.

Chapter 6 — The Honda

She Told Me to Get a Honda

Then came a bad breakup. My girlfriend told me I needed to get a new car — she was tired of driving us everywhere. She said I should get a Honda. After we broke up, sitting with everything I'd been learning from The Secret, I said to myself: the universe will bring me a Honda. I didn't know how — I just knew I wanted something nice, something people would respect me for.

Chapter 7 — The Ad

Four Pages In, the Universe Answered

One afternoon I was deleting emails on CareerBuilder — four, five pages of them. Nothing but lowball offers, nowhere near the $85,000-and-over manager jobs I knew I was worth. Then I saw it: an ad for a car salesman making up to $85,000 a year — the exact number I'd set in my mind, enough to give me and my family a better start. And after three months, a Honda demo I could drive. Both things I'd asked for, in one ad. That's when I saw the law of attraction happening right in front of me — and I knew it was God. Not luck. Not coincidence. A higher power was speaking to me, opening a door I never could have opened on my own. All I had to do was knock — and walk through it. So I went for the interview.

"I asked for $85,000 and a Honda. The universe put both in one ad."

Chapter 8 — The Honda Years

My First Dealership. $100K a Year.

I started at Honda — my first dealership. Six years. I earned $100,000 a year, which was absolutely amazing. And Neville is the one who got me visualizing through all of it — the law of assumption. I'd listen to his audio tapes, close my eyes, build the scene, live inside it until I felt it. It wasn't theory anymore. It was real. But I also knew the math: if I could earn six figures selling Hondas, a higher luxury brand would multiply my income. So I began the visualization process again — the same process that put me on the court, the same one that put me in car sales. I saw myself at the BMW store. I was planning on working there the whole time.

Chapter 9 — The Call

The Universe Said: It's Time

Then a friend of mine left Honda and took a manager job at the BMW store. He never knew I'd been visualizing it all along. And then he called me — I didn't even ask. I felt it was the universe God saying: Ryan, it's time. You've learned enough. That's where everything changed.

Chapter 10 — The BMW Years

Higher Peaks. Bigger Rooms.

At BMW, I hit income peaks I'd never touched — $200K, $300K years. And the rooms changed completely. I was vibing with professional athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs — millionaires, hundred-million-dollar earners — my clients. Talking with them, learning from them, my confidence went to another level. I was traveling, living a life the kid deleting CareerBuilder emails couldn't have pictured. Then I helped lead that sales force to #1 BMW dealer in the nation — on good energy, the law of attraction, and masterminds in a spirit of harmony.

Chapter 11 — What the Showroom Floor Taught Me

The Distraction Age

Somewhere in those 19 years, I realized something: Hill, Neville, Bristol, and Wattles gave me the principles — but they lived in a simpler time. They never faced the information age. No Instagram, no Facebook, no YouTube, no endless scroll. No millions of shows engineered to steal your attention. They never knew what it does to a human mind to scroll past the life you want and quietly decide you're not deserving of it.

I had to learn that part on my own. On the showroom floor, I took the same focus and drive I'd once aimed at basketball and turned it inward — training my mind to manifest the right opportunities, attract the right clients, close the right deals, and block out every distraction competing for my attention.

That's what I teach now. Not just the masters' wisdom — but how to hold pure, undistracted focus on it in a world designed to break it. That's the 2.0.
